Call me an Apple fanboy but...

I know, I know, I always go on about Apple. The accusations regularly fly about my being either a 'fanboy' or on commission. But if Apple keep doing things like they did yesterday for me, then I'll just have to roll with those punches!

'So, what happened yesterday?' I hear you asking. Well basically the battery on my Macbook Pro suddenly went all funny (technical term) yesterday. My laptop randomly shutdown and then when I got it up and running it was suddenly showing a battery error. So I booked an appointment at the Apple store to get them to check it out.

To be honest, I was a bit worried as my laptop is one year and ten days old (and therefore out of warranty). I was thinking, 'I really hope it's nothing serious as I can't afford to buy a new battery right now'. Anyway, I took it in and they confirmed that there were dodgy cells (technical term) in the battery. It'd need replacing.

They asked me how old it was and I told them. So the guy logged into their system, brought up my serial number, and manually overode the purchase date so that my one year warranty would run until the end of November and therefore entitle me to a free battery replacement. I could have given him a hug!

Now obviously a laptop battery shouldn't be dying when only just over a year old but still, that's the kind of customer service that keeps someone like me loyal.
